Despite the inclement weather which saw sun, rain and strong winds throughout the day, the 16 qualifiers for the 2nd stage tomorrow, have been decided.

Group A – former winner Gordon Brown (Aberdeen Indoor) and Eddie Bain (Polmuir) qualified at the expense of former winner Mike Stephen (Ellon)

Group B – Allan Robb (Woodend) and Brian Mitchell (Newhills) qualified

Group C – Jim Forbes (Ruthrieston) and Stuart Robison (Polmuir) qualified with the holders, Brian Leslie (Newhills) missing out.

Group D – David Thomson (Culter) and Jimmy Raitt (Whitehall) qualified

Group E – Finlay McIntosh (Newhills) and Myra Greig (Kittybrewster) are the two qualifiers.

Group F – Valerie Keith (Aberdeen Deaf Bowlers) and George Milne (Woodend) qualify

Group G – Alan Pirie (Woodend Past Presidents) and Steve McGillivray (Laurencekirk) qualified

Group H – Cameron Millar (Bon Accord/ADLBA) and Steve Thomson (Northern) are the final two qualifiers

Day 2, tomorrow (Sunday) starts at 10am, with the qualifiers playing in four sections. Each section winner qualifies for the semi-finals.
